Adoption Information

This page outlines fees, and what is required to adopt an animal and animals currently available for adoption.

What Do I Need To Adopt An Animal?

All adoption fees are cash only and all adoption fees include a $50.00 sterilization deposit, unless the animal has been previously spayed or neutered. 

Personal Identification

A valid photo ID from Washington County, VA or surrounding counties are required to adopt and animal.

$ 75.00 Dog Adoption Fee

The $75.00 adoption fee is for dogs only. Sterilization deposit included.

$65.00 Cat Adoption Fee

The $65.00 adoption fee is for cats only. Sterilization deposit included.

Animals Currently Available for Adoption

Animals listed here are the animals that the Washington County, Virginia Animal Shelter currently has available for adoption.  Please note that if an animal is not listed here, the animal is no longer available for adoption.
